European Council President António Costa stated that today’s summit marks an important milestone in deepening the Armenia-EU partnership.

“It reflects the significant achievements of recent years, as well as our shared ambition to deliver tangible benefits to our citizens, businesses, and societies.

It is true, dear Nikol, that Armenia’s geographical location has not changed, but you have fundamentally transformed the conditions in your country.

The European Union strongly supports Armenia’s socio-economic reform agenda, including through technical and financial assistance,” Costa said.

He added that the participation of Ilham Aliyev in the summit the previous day signaled a new atmosphere between the two countries. According to him, a stable and prosperous South Caucasus is key to Armenia’s future.

“Armenia has become a hub of connectivity between Europe and Asia, and the EU is a long-term partner for Armenia. We are committed to supporting Armenia’s resilience and national security,” Costa emphasized.
