Lilia Shushanyan stated that the Republic of Armenia is becoming a dying state due to a demographic disaster.

According to her, over the past 35 years, the population of the South Caucasus has grown to 17.2 million, while the demographic leader in the region has become Azerbaijan in terms of population growth.

She noted that over the next 25 years, the same trend is expected to continue: the populations of Armenia and Georgia will keep declining, while Azerbaijan’s population is projected to exceed 11 million.

“To stimulate the birth rate in Armenia, the ‘Strong Armenia’ party has developed a program. In the case of the birth of a fourth child, the family would receive 2 million drams. In the case of the birth of a fifth and each subsequent child, the family would receive a free apartment,” she stated.
