The situation is manageable; we will by and large not have problems with flower exports from Armenia to Russia – Gevorg Papoyan

We have not received an official letter from the Russian Federation regarding a temporary ban on the export of flowers from Armenia, therefore I cannot comment on it, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said during a briefing with journalists after the government session.

According to him, specialists from Rosselkhoznadzor have arrived in Armenia and are currently conducting inspections at several companies. These are enterprises whose export to Russia has been restricted, and a positive conclusion would restore export opportunities for them.

“These are current working issues. I do not exclude that there are forces in Armenia trying to create a situation where Armenian producers face problems in Russia. We receive such information regularly. But we are also able to solve these problems in parallel,” the minister said, referring also to previous issues involving Wildberries and Ozon, which he said have been resolved.

Gevorg Papoyan assured that the situation is manageable, that active work is ongoing with Russian partners, and that by and large there should be no major problems.

It should be recalled that the Russian phytosanitary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor announced that it would impose temporary restrictions on flower imports from Armenia starting May 22, 2026, pending completion of inspections and analysis of greenhouse facilities.
