We cannot allow others to determine our fate – Narek Karapetyan
Narek Karapetyan, a member of the board of the Strong Armenia Party, addressed issues of emigration, national identity, and the country’s future in an interview.
According to him, those considering leaving Armenia should remember the hardships endured by their ancestors so that the Armenian people could reach the present day.
“Historically, for hundreds and thousands of years, our ancestors endured torture, persecution, and oppression, and passed on their legacy to us. It is unacceptable for this to end in our generation,” he said.
Narek Karapetyan also commented on government policy, stating that concerns previously raised about bringing representatives of neighboring nations to Armenia were once denied, but are now being openly discussed.
In his view, no single individual should decide the fate of the people.
“How can one person change the fate of all of us for the worse, and why are we here? We should shape our own destiny; no one should decide how we live,” he noted.
