More than half of respondents support street protests in case of unfair elections

According to the latest telephone survey conducted by MPG LLC, the full member of the GALLUP International Association in Armenia, a significant share of citizens say they would be prepared to take part in street protests if they believe the parliamentary elections are conducted unfairly.

The survey was conducted on June 2-3 and included 1,104 respondents. Participants were asked: “If the parliamentary elections are held unfairly, are you ready to take to the streets to establish justice?”

The results were as follows:

•    39.8% said they were “definitely ready”;
•    10.4% answered “rather yes”;
•    9.7% said “rather no”;
•    35.7% answered “definitely no”;
•    5.3% found it difficult to answer.

Overall, 50.2% of respondents expressed varying degrees of willingness to participate in street protests, while 45.4% said they would not take such a step. Another 5.3% did not express a clear position.
