PSRC Chairman does not rule out importing gas from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Iran

Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia Chairman Mesrop Mesropyan has not ruled out that Armenia could consider alternative gas suppliers, including Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Iran, in the event of a price increase from Russia.

“Alternatives can be considered: all possible countries that sell gas, and where infrastructure allows us to purchase gas… from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, I don’t know, from Iran,” he said in a conversation with journalists.

Mesropyan also stated that even in the event of higher gas prices, Armenia would not return to the difficult energy situation of the 1990s.
