Strong Armenia demands annulment of election results and calls for re-vote (Video)

The Strong Armenia party has submitted an application to the Central Election Commission (CEC) requesting the annulment of the results of the June 7 election.

“In the application, we presented the large-scale electoral violations that occurred before election day as well as on election day. We also emphasized repressive actions, abuse of administrative resources, and hate speech,” party representative Aram Vardevanyan said.

He added that the CEC is obliged to consider the issue of a re-vote when reviewing the request to invalidate the election results.

“The grounds for a re-vote are very clear. If the results of those precincts that were declared invalid affect the overall election outcome, then a re-run is mandatory,” he said.

According to Vardevanyan, the application will be reviewed on Sunday, by which time the results of the recount are also expected to be summarized.
