Iranians owe Gagik Tsarukyan $14.5 million; the debt was to be repaid within two years, which expire the day after tomorrow: lawyer (video)

Gagik Tsarukyan’s legal team has filed a motion to hold a confrontation with Iranian businessmen.

An Aysor.am correspondent asked the lawyers today whether the deal had been unsuccessful and whether the authorities were trying to use it as a basis for bringing charges. Tsarukyan’s lawyer, Emin Khachatryan, said that the deal had not been unsuccessful, but had instead been a major step toward the development of Armenian-Iranian relations.

“All investments were made by Mr. Tsarukyan, and I already have some difficulty calling these people Iranian businessmen, since the reality has been revealed. They currently owe Mr. Tsarukyan $14.5 million, but a different reality is being presented,” Emin Khachatryan noted.

The lawyer said that the Iranian businessmen were obliged to repay the debt within two years, and that the two-year period expires the day after tomorrow. “Therefore, we are convinced that their actions are aimed at preventing them from fulfilling their obligations,” Khachatryan added
