Alain Simonian: “Hello Yerevan” will receive 40% of votes in elections

Orinats Yerkir Party and Armenian National Congress (HAK) will not overcome the 6% threshold in the upcoming elections to Yerevan Council of Elders, “Ararat” magazine’s editor Alain Simonian said at the meeting with reporters today. Simonian is No 12 on the list of candidates of “Hello Yerevan” bloc of parties.

“I think “Hello Yerevan” will receive 40% of the votes. Republican Party of Armenia, Prosperous Armenia Party, ARFD, and Hello Yerevan will have their representatives in Yerevan Council of Elders,” the speaker noted.

“There are no signs of election campaigning in Yerevan: only posters were put up, and asphalt laying work has been done in Amirian Street for a week,” the editor of Ararat magazine said.

“Yerevan has a lot of problems: badly-lit streets, shooting of stray dogs, a huge number of crows,” Simonian said.

He added that the Yerevan municipal elections are political, rather than policy-based.
