OEK to replace Heritage in Armenian delegation to PACE

A deputy of Orinats Yerkir Party (OEK) will replace Zaruhi Postanjian of Heritage parliamentary faction as a member of the Armenian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). The head of the Armenian delegation to PACE David Harutyunian made that announcement.

He considered as correct the Armenian parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamian’s decision, according to which the members of Heritage faction will not be represented in the delegation to the PACE.

“Of course, one of the reasons for changing the delegation’s composition was the question that Z. Postanjian’s addressed to the Armenian president at the PACE session. But there are also other reasons. In particular, no one was concerned so far about the fact that Orinats Yerkir Party was not represented in the delegation,” D. Harutyunian said.

In his words, Postanjian can lodge a complaint about the parliamentary speaker’s decision to the PACE, but ‘the result will be zero’.

“When presenting the composition of the delegation, the parliamentary speaker did not violate any requirement of the PACE,” D. Harutyunian said.
