Counting commission of parliament to hold special meeting tomorrow
The counting commission of Armenia’s National Assembly will hold a special meeting at 3:00 pm tomorrow, ARFD faction deputy Artsvik Minasian announced at a meeting with reporters today.
According to him, two issues were included in the agenda. The first issue is related to legality of the vote count at the December 23 parliamentary session and the second issue is organizational.
Minasian said that under Article 27 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, a special meeting of the counting commission can be called at the request of the commission chairman and a third of commission members.
“In fact, over half of the commission members made that demand, and if the commission chairman does not attend the sitting, the four members may hold that sitting,” Minasian said.
Let us remind you that at the special session of the Armenian parliament on December 23, ratification of three agreements signed between the governments of Armenia and Russia on December 2 in Yerevan was put to the vote. 72 deputies voted in favor of the agreement on the terms of purchase and sale of ArmRosGazprom Company’s shares and its further operations. Representatives of Republican Party of Armenia and Orinats Yerkir factions participated in the vote, while the non-coalition factions – Armenian National Congress, ARFD, Heritage, and Prosperous Armenia Party boycotted the vote.
