Wings of Unity does not share the view that applying to the Constitutional Court was pointless (video)

The Wings of Unity party has filed an application with the Constitutional Court seeking to have the results of the National Assembly elections declared invalid.

Speaking to reporters outside the court building, party representative Liparit Drmeyan recalled that since June 8, the party has consistently stated that it does not accept the election results and intends to use all available legal mechanisms to challenge them.

“We have taken a number of steps. First, we requested recounts across all of Yerevan, as well as in several regional electoral commissions. We then submitted an application to the Central Electoral Commission seeking to have the election results declared invalid and to schedule a repeat vote,” Drmeyan said.

He added that the CEC session was “a disgrace,” with no legal procedures being observed and that the applications were not given proper consideration.

Drmeyan also noted that the party has now applied to the Constitutional Court to have the National Assembly election results invalidated.

According to him, Wings of Unity does not agree with those who believe that appealing to the Constitutional Court is futile: “If there is even a small chance of success, we will use that chance 100 percent.”
